About Us
BC Fitness is owned and operated by Brent Campbell.
I have spent a lifetime chasing things and getting banged up in the name of sport. I have played lacrosse, baseball, tennis, and hockey, ran track and cross country and played competitive level soccer and rugby.
Name a sport and the chances are that I have played it. Name an injury and there is a good chance I have had it (three knee operations, broken collarbone, dislocated shoulder, broken nose, torn rotator cuff, countless sprained ankles and plenty of stitches). It is because of these injuries that I became interested in how the body worked, and even more astounded at how it recovered.
For personal interest, and self preservation on the rugby pitch, I enrolled in courses on fitness theory, weight training and personal training. As this interest and fascination grew I continued to take more workshops and courses, eventually gaining accreditation as a personal trainer, which has now developed into a full time passion.
I am realistic about exercise and understand that there is more to life than working out. Like the rest of you, I try to find a balance between family, career, continuing education, a social life and recreational activities. Come to me with a fitness goal and you will be given an honest answer and realistic timeline, not something you want to hear. My philosophy is learn how your body works, set reasonable goals that mesh with your lifestyle, and create a positive health environment for yourself, to help make fitness an enjoyable part of your everyday life. Simply put, if exercise becomes something you enjoy, rather than something you feel you have to do, then, in all likelihood you will stick with it long term.
When not running a boot camp or providing personal training to others, I spend time with my wife and young daughter, walking the family dog, keeping active, and watching way too much hockey. Having only just moved here from Vancouver, I am eagerly awaiting this Winnipeg winter that everyone talks about, in the hopes that my skating will improve and my hockey career will take a turn for the better.

Mission statement
Our goal is to empower people with the knowledge and ability to exercise safely, effectively, efficiently and happily, both with a trainer, and ultimately, on their own. We treat everyone with courtesy and respect and strive to provide you with a safe and enjoyable exercise environment.Really the goal of a trainer (at least this one) is to get you started in the right direction, to give you the tools and confidence to workout on your own, to inspire, and to provide support along the way to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. From my experiences, that typically requires meeting more at the beginning until you are on the right path and then less frequently asyou progress,to change up your routine and keep things fresh and motivating when needed. It doesn't make for thekind of business plan the bank manager wants to see, but that is my true belief.
